Job Description
Common Ground is looking for an energetic and creative individual who will consult for us on an as needed basis and make an immediate positive contribution. We need someone who's a multi-tasker and self-directed with strong talent in designing and maintaining beautiful, usable web pages, email marketing templates, ads, landing pages, and other online marketing assets.
This Web/UI Designer will work closely with our usability and marketing strategists and be responsible for ensuring the quality of their work, cross-browser testing and identifying and troubleshooting issues. We would like this individual to be well-versed with usability best practices and SEO, as well as online marketing best practices. You must be able to take creative direction as well as work independently and handle several high priority projects at once in a fast-paced environment. Extreme attention to detail and organizational skills are imperative.
Show us what you can do! We prefer a college education and 5 plus years of experience but if you are talented and can prove it...apply! Telecommuting is an option if you are not living on Kauai.
Desired Skill Sets
* Impressive design skills with a Strong Online Portfolio
* Heavy attention to details, half your design time is spent looking at individual pixels
* Rock-solid in front-end development; XHTML, CSS (including sprites), and JavaScript
* Experience developing cross-browser and cross-platform compatible solutions
* An ability to discern when to follow strategy and when to propose fresh creative solutions
* Experience working with clients and presenting design elements, mood boards and mockups
Pluses
* 3+ years experience in designing dynamic websites, landing pages and email newsletters
* Knowledge of marketing strategy and online marketing best practices
* Experience designing and developing for desktops, iPhone, iPad and other devices
* Intermediate to Advanced understanding of Flash and ActionScript
* Experience working with CMS and Analytics
